Slot Wars - Rotten VS Gronk’s Gems - ReelNews By GamblersArea
Get ready for an epic episode of slot wars - Rotten VS Gronk’s Gems! Let's see which of these Hacksaw Gaming slots will end up victorious in this epic battle.

Hacksaw Gaming has delighted its players with two new amazing slots - Rotten and Gronk’s Gems. With completely different themes and visuals, these slots actually have more in common than it seems.
In this episode of slot wars, zombies are fighting the cave trolls. Can Gronk defend its gems from the horde of the undead?
Let’s see, start the slot war!
Round 1: Winning Potential And RTP
Decayed zombies are dragging around a 6x5 grid with 35 reels in the Rotten slot. While the horrific visuals of the gruesome walking undead can make you sick to your stomach, the winning potential of up to 10,000x the bet is more than appealing.
On the contrary, Gronk’s Gems comes with a vibrant presentation and bright gem symbols spinning on a 6x6 grid with cluster pays mechanics. Still, despite the bigger playground and attractive visuals, the maximum prize of 7,500x the stake isn’t enough to make it a winner of this round.
When comparing slots by the same provider, the RTP tends to be in a similar range. This is also the case with these Hacksaw slots whose return to the player percentage is almost the same. Therefore, the zombie release comes with an RTP of 96.27, while the gem-inspired title features an RTP of 96.24%.
As expected, the horror-themed slot has the highest level of volatility, ranked 5 out of 5 by the provider. Its rival offers medium volatile gameplay, ranked 3 out of 5.
Round 2: Bonus Features
When it comes to bonus features, Rotten introduces a mechanic called SwitchSpins that awards up to 10 respins when activated. During respins, symbols are selected randomly and replaced by either Wilds or the highest-paying symbol. All selected symbols and the replacing symbol are clearly marked above the game board and after the current SwitchSpins set ends, the selected symbols reset.
The Mad Scientist bonus round awards 10 free spins. During these free spins, the chance of triggering SwitchSpins is much higher than in the base game.
There’s another bonus round with 10 free spins as well, activated by landing three Total Takeover symbols either in the base game or in the Mad Scientist round. During Total Takeover free spins the chance is greater of anding Switch symbols, but here the selected symbols are saved progressively and don’t reset after SwitchSpins. Collecting all of the symbols and filling the screen with the top paying symbol or Wilds is also a possibility.
Symbols that are part of a winning combo make symbols of the same type to glow, putting them in a “charged state”. Symbols in the charged state are tracked by a bar above reels and cards remain charged until the end of the current spin.
After winning symbols have been removed by a cascade, Epic Gem symbols may appear and activate if no more wins or cascades occur, transforming all Charged Symbols in view into the highest-paying charged symbol. Afterward, Charged symbols are absorbed by the Epic Gem and count as if they are one winning cluster.
The Epic Gem always counts as 4 symbols and when all Charged symbols have been absorbed, the Epic Gem explodes to trigger a cascade. Three Gronk's Head Scatters award bonus round with 10 free spins during which there is a higher chance of landing Epic Gem symbols than in the base game.
This game also comes with two bonus round and the Gem Hoarder feature awards 5 free spins. Here when winning symbols are removed each symbol increases the global multiplier by +1. If winning clusters are connected to the special X-Gem card, the global multiplier is applied to the total wins.
Both games come with a Bonus Buy option and offer several versions. Since Hacksaw slots are recognizable by numerous and strong special features, these slots are equal when it comes to the quality of the bonus rounds. The tiebreaker here is precisely the Buy Bonus option as Rotten offers one more version of bonus buy compared to its rival.
Round 3: Visuals And Audio
It is undeniable that both of these slots come with the highest level of quality regarding graphics and animation. The story of the zombie apocalypse is certainly more interesting than the gems theme and it is followed through to the teeth.
Maybe to much as this slot might be a bit disturbing for some players. Visuals are done so truly that chills can go through your spine while playing it. Although it depicts the theme completely, the winner of this round goes to the fantasy-themed slot.
It is bright, colorful and very pleasing to the eye. Even the cave troll Gronk that is guarding reels has an amiable charm that makes him endearing. While other symbols aren’t that original, all together make this slot very charming and nice-looking.
And The Winner Is…
This was a really tough battle with many twists and turns. In the end, the Rotten slot has prevailed mostly due to higher winning potential. Still, don’t miss trying out Gronk’s Gems too, as it is yet another amazing slot by Hacksaw Gaming.
